Banyan Tree Lang Co
There is something rather special about arriving at Banyan Tree Lang Co. The road winds along the coast before opening up to a broad bay framed by mountains, jungle, and a seemingly endless stretch of sand. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet both Hue and Hoi An are within easy reach.
The resort is made up entirely of private villas, each with its own pool and generous outdoor space. Some overlook the lagoon, others face the sea, but all are designed to make the most of the natural surroundings. The style is understated and elegant, with subtle Vietnamese touches and plenty of room to simply slow down and switch off.
A typical day here might begin with breakfast overlooking the water, followed by a few hours beside your private pool or a treatment at the Banyan Tree Spa. If you’re feeling more active, the nearby Laguna Golf Lang Co, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, is one of the finest courses in the country.
One of the things we particularly like about Banyan Tree Lang Co is its location. It’s perfectly placed for exploring central Vietnam. You can spend a day wandering the imperial citadel in Hue, drive over the spectacular Hai Van Pass, or head south to Hoi An for an evening among its lantern-lit streets.
Dining is another highlight. Fresh seafood, authentic Vietnamese dishes, and excellent Thai cuisine are all on offer, with several restaurants and bars spread across the resort. In the evenings, the atmosphere becomes wonderfully peaceful as the mountains fade into silhouette and the lagoon reflects the last light of the day.
Banyan Tree Lang Co is the sort of place where many guests arrive planning to stay for three nights and end up wishing they had booked a week.
Why We Love It
The setting is hard to beat. Between the mountains and the sea, the resort feels completely removed from the outside world, yet some of Vietnam’s most fascinating cultural sites are only a short drive away. Add in beautiful private pool villas and genuinely warm service, and it’s easy to see why this remains one of our favourite beach retreats in Vietnam.
